Crow Nest Refund Policy
Effective date: October 6, 2026
This policy is part of the Terms of Service. Crow Nest is a service of Defi LLC. Questions: hello@crow-nest.com.
The short version
- Flat $7/month plan: if you're not happy, ask for a full refund of your first charge within 14 days of it. No questions asked.
- Everything else: charges for usage and domains are generally non-refundable, except for the mistakes and failures described below.
- You can cancel any time. Cancelling stops future charges.
1. Flat plan ($7 / month)
- First charge, 14 days. Email hello@crow-nest.com within 14 days after your first Flat subscription charge and we'll refund it in full. This applies once per customer.
- After the first 14 days, or on renewals: subscription fees are not refunded, including for partial months. If you cancel, you keep your plan until the end of the period you already paid for. (If you delete your account, a Flat subscription is cancelled right away with no refund for the current month, so cancel first if you want the rest of the month.)
- Our mistakes. If we bill you in error (for example, a duplicate charge, a charge after you cancelled, or a charge for the wrong amount), tell us within 60 days and we'll fix it, which includes a refund of the error.
2. Usage charges (Pay as you go and overage)
Usage charges (database, file storage, server functions and similar) are for resources already used, so they are not refundable, except where billed in error (our mistake, a metering bug, or a charge that doesn't match your actual usage). Tell us within 60 days of the invoice and we'll review it, and we'll credit or refund any amount we agree was wrong.
3. Domains bought through Crow Nest
- If we can't register a domain after you pay, we automatically refund the full charge.
- Once a domain is registered, the charge is non-refundable because we've already paid the registrar, who generally doesn't refund registrations. This includes the renewal charge once a renewal has been processed.
- Before a renewal, we email you. If you don't want to renew, turn off auto-renew in the dashboard before the renewal date.
- You can transfer a domain away at any time; the registrar's rules (such as a lock after registration) apply.
4. AI costs
- Crow Nest AI usage is billed by what's used and is not refundable, because we've already paid the AI provider for it. If we bill you wrongly (for example a metering error), tell us within 60 days and we'll fix it as described in section 2.
- If you use your own AI key, charges on that provider account are between you and the provider, and we can't refund them.
5. Organizations on a contract
Organizations billed by invoice or under a separate agreement follow the refund and credit terms in that agreement.
6. When we end the Service or suspend you
- If we discontinue the paid Service you're subscribed to, we'll refund the unused part of any prepaid period.
- If we suspend or terminate your account for breaking our Terms or Acceptable Use Policy, we don't owe a refund.
7. How to ask, and how refunds are paid
Email hello@crow-nest.com from your account email with the invoice or charge details. We aim to answer within 5 business days. Approved refunds go back to your original payment method through Stripe; your bank can take 5 to 10 business days to show it.
8. Chargebacks
Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank. We can usually solve it faster, and a chargeback may lead to suspension of your account while we sort it out.
9. Your legal rights
Nothing here limits any refund or cancellation rights you have under the law where you live.
